Ecofluencers: Turning Environmental Learning into Long-Term Action

The Ecofluencers project (Project No: 2025-3-ES02-KA152-YOU-000370087) was implemented as an Erasmus+ KA152 Youth Exchange in Malaga, Spain, between 11–17 May 2026, under the coordination of Asociación Rescate Verde. The project brought together young participants from Hungary, Romania, Spain, Türkiye to strengthen environmental awareness, active citizenship, and international cooperation through non-formal education. The activities focused on helping participants transform environmental knowledge into practical actions that can create lasting impact within their local communities.

Throughout the programme, participants reflected on how simple everyday habits can contribute to environmental sustainability while exchanging personal experiences with peers from different cultural backgrounds. Informal discussions encouraged them to recognize that meaningful environmental change often begins with small individual actions. By sharing personal stories and practical examples, participants inspired one another to adopt more sustainable lifestyles and developed a stronger sense of personal responsibility toward protecting the environment.

The project also placed a strong emphasis on ensuring that learning would continue beyond the mobility itself. Participants worked together to develop dissemination strategies tailored to their own countries, identifying target audiences, communication channels, and creative methods for sharing the project's outcomes. Through collaborative planning and the analysis of successful dissemination practices, they strengthened their project management, teamwork, strategic thinking, and communication skills while preparing to multiply the project's impact within their local communities.

Alongside environmental learning, participants explored the rich cultural heritage of Malaga through visits to historical landmarks, museums, and public spaces. Experiencing the city's history, architecture, art, and local traditions provided valuable opportunities for intercultural dialogue and cultural appreciation. These shared experiences strengthened friendships among participants while demonstrating how cultural heritage and environmental awareness can complement one another in building responsible global citizenship.

An equally important part of the programme focused on helping participants recognize their own personal development. Through creative self-assessment activities and the Youthpass reflection process, they identified the knowledge, competences, and skills they had developed during the exchange. Reflecting on their learning journey enabled participants to appreciate their progress in areas such as environmental awareness, intercultural communication, teamwork, creativity, and active citizenship. As a result, the Ecofluencers project not only equipped young people with practical environmental knowledge but also empowered them to become confident ambassadors for sustainability within their own communities.
